Why reusable straws?

Everyday we throw away enough plastic straws that, if joined end-to-end, they would go around the equator of Earth 2.5 times! Reusable straws are very eco-friendly compared to plastic as marine life see plastic as food and end up in alot of pain after ingesting it. If that hasn't convinced you enough, plastic has even made it's way into the food chain..
